Student SRAEYC/ECE Club Meeting September 21, 2011

Jennifer, Aubrie, Tiffany, Jodie, Jamie, Danelle, Ashley, Rachel, Jasmine, Crystal, Christine, Janet, Sam, Katie, and Maria!
·      Interclub Meeting Notes
We got new rules to follow as CSI club, nothing different.  Some forms to fill out.  Next year we will re-due the elections and vote on officers of the club.
·      Date Night—Sept. 23. 6-10 pm. Who is coming?
You can come if you are a student or a club member.  Just contact Jennifer.
·      Club Service Project—
Cutting down trees and making pieces to use as blocks at the preschool.  We also want to make enough pieces to share with other preschools around town.  We will be going up to the South Hills, and carpooling to get up there.
Oct. 1st at Noon.  We will meet at the CSI Preschool Lab before we go up.
E-mail Jennifer or Crystal about coming if you would like to join us.
This will be a SRAEYC Club activity.
·      SRAEYC Conference-- Nov. 12. 9-4 @ CSI
Jennifer Ward is coming.  She is talking about nature and getting kids out to nature.  There will be an hour and a half break for lunch in the middle.  Lunch is not provided.  Members of SRAEYC will pay $10.  Others who would like to come will pay $40.
·      Other fund raisers-Consider a silent auction at SRAEYC fall conference?
Have an auction before or after the SRAEYC conference.  Auction items will include tickets to massages, toys, and other items.  We will need help manning the booth before and after the conference.  If you know someone who would like to donate items for the auction, talk to Jennifer or Aubrie.  We would love to have their donations.

·      Club Member Ideas
Let Jennifer or Aubrie know if you have any idea’s.
We will do an outreach to High School’s Early Childhood Education Program later this year, or sometime next year.

·      Halloween Carnival
We are doing sensory tables with toys hidden underneath the sensory items. We will do shredded paper with coupons on the papers for the toys. The other table will have leaves.  Jasmine also suggested doing tattoo’s for older children, so that we will have two activities.  This will be on the 29th of Oct.
Jasmine will be talking to administration about students dressing appropriately during the carnival.

·      Thanksgiving Food Drive
We will be talking to the other clubs about joining us in this challenge.  We will not be doing this until November.  We are considering taking the food to Idaho Food Drive.  Let us know if you know a great place to donate the food to.

·      School Supply Drive
This will be starting near the beginning of October.  Jasmine is running it.  She wants to collect art supplies for Head Start and other programs who do not have art supplies.
